Coming Soon: A New and Improved Way to Access NSLSC.ca

Exciting changes are on the way! The Canada Student Financial Assistance (CSFA) Program is enhancing its identity verification process to optimize security and streamline access to your student loan information. Soon, you will require a My Service Canada Account (MSCA) to access your student loan account. This system will verify your identity and serve as your single point of entry to manage your online NSLSC account alongside other government services.

What is My Service Canada Account (MSCA)?

MSCA consolidates multiple government services and benefits into one portal, making it easier for you to manage them with a single login. Your personal information will be protected by advanced security measures, reducing the risk of identity theft and fraud. If you use any of the services listed below, you likely already have an MSCA account:

You may have created an MSCA to view or update your Social Insurance Number (SIN). Soon, you will need to use MSCA as the single point of entry to access your NSLSC account for managing your Canada Student Loan and integrated student loans.

If you already have an MSCA, you’re all set! Starting May 2025, you will access your NSLSC account through this same portal.

Don’t have an MSCA yet? Register now to ensure a smooth transition. You have three options to create and access your MSCA:

Registering is easy! The NSLSC already uses GCKey or a Sign-in Partner for account access. You can use the same credentials for your MSCA. Just validate your identity (more information below) to link them to MSCA. This will not affect your NSLSC account access until the transition to MSCA login is complete.

You will need your SIN, Birth Registration Number, or Unique Client Identifier to complete registration.

Validating your identity is a one-time action for new MSCA users. Once registered, you will not need to go through this process again. To verify your identity, you have two options:

  1. Interac® verification service: Register and access MSCA immediately if your financial institution is listed below:
    • BMO
    • CIBC
    • Desjardins
    • RBC
    • Scotiabank
    • TD
  2. Personal Access Code (PAC): If you do not bank with any of the above institutions, you will need to request a PAC from Service Canada, which can take up to 10 business days to receive by mail. Register today to avoid delays.

Important Information

Please note that you cannot use the MSCA site to access NSLSC.ca until May 2025. Ensure you remember your login details for future use. Until then, continue accessing your NSLSC account using the current login process. Registering now will ensure a seamless transition to the system.
