The Government of Canada announced measures to support student loan borrowers affected during COVID-19, including the suspension of payments with no interest accruing on student loans from March 30th to September 30th, 2020, the doubling of Canada Student Grant amounts for the 2020-21 school year, and the Canada Emergency Student Benefit. It may take some time for these measures to be applied to your NSLSC online account. Your student loan account may temporarily reflect incorrect information, such as your interest accruing.
To unlock your NSLSC account, sign in to GCKey or your Sign-In Partner. Follow the steps to reach the Security Question and Answer page and select "Create my profile" from the banner. This will allow you to re-authenticate and access your account.
If you receive a call offering Federal Government relief for student loans and to call back for more information, beware it is a scam. Do not call the number provided as this is not a legitimate representative from the NSLSC.
